SUMMER EVENTS // Rogers Cup with LACOSTE

Where: AVIVA CENTRE

Games:

DJOKOVIC V. MULLER

NISHIKORI V. NOVIKOV

As a kid I was just as indecisive as I am now ... surprise surprise right? I went through just about all the sports available for my age with only a few sticking for longer than a season - like swimming, skating, and basketball. One summer I was finally introduced to the amazing world of tennis, which has stuck with me till even now. There's such a sense of calm, yet invigoration hitting those hard courts (or clay + grass if you're lucky) with your racket and tennis balls and hitting that fuzzy yellow ball back and forth with your rally partner. I eventually got to play competitively at University + I haven't looked back at those other sports since (... okay except maybe this past weekend when I thought to myself why I never did pick up some beach v-ball).

Anyways, back to the event with Lacoste! I used to go to the Rogers Cup every summer since it started in Toronto. My family and I would go watch some games while my dad would commentate constantly to my brother and I about how we would go practice those strokes afterwards.

This time, it was a little different. BICOM along with Lacoste put on a beautiful afternoon for us. We got to watch the game from Lacoste's private suite at AVIVA CENTRE where delicious food + drinks were awaiting our arrival along with a beautiful assortment of photo props (I mean, we were a whole group of media folk so they knew which heart strings to pull). They had the most beautiful white + navy cushions that every blogger there plotted at least once how they were going to get one home! (kidding ... but not really :p) PLUS that old school tennis racket had its own waiting list for pictures, imagine that!

Lacoste was always that brand that I begged my parents to get me as my tennis uniform or even just to wear on the weekends, but sadly back then my allowance made it impossible! Now as I get older I am only appreciating the classic-ness of Lacoste more + you bet I went through my entire closet that night to find my favourite (vintage by now probably) navy Lacoste polo!
