I am so so happy it’s finally spring, but that means we’re that much closer to the big (wedding) day in July! 


I can’t believe time has flown by so quickly. I feel like there are a bijilloin things to do and it feels like it will never stop. I’m SUPER excited for our wedding, but with all the planning, running my own business, and fixing up our new home, I just feel so busy ... and it feels like that ALL the time. 


This brings me to the point of today’s blog post. I wanted to talk to you all about how to keep self-care a priority even when it feels like you don’t even have a second of the day to spare! 

I’m definitely one of those people that like to try “new” techniques/tricks for self-care, but they often don’t last because I’m not comfortable doing them or they just feel too unnatural for me.

I’ve found that there is one simple trick that has made the biggest difference in my self-care practices and has been the easiest to stick to. 

TAKE AN EXTRA FEW MOMENTS EACH MORNING 


For me, I used to ALWAYS feel rushed in the morning. It would likely be a result of my pressing the snooze button one too many times. So, I started to set my alarm 20 minutes earlier every morning so that even when I feel like sleeping in a little bit more, I’m actually waking up closer to the time I should! With the extra time, I can actually sit down after brushing my teeth, washing my face, and take those extra moments of calmness to do my beauty fit routine before hustling out the door. 


Ok - so I know your next question will be, “What’s your Beauty Fit Routine?”. 

Well, it’s pretty simple because even though I’ve given myself those “extra” moments in the morning ... it’s not like I have all day :p! 


The first thing I do when I wake up is head downstairs (YES, I have a downstairs now because we finally moved into our new home!! YAY!) and start the coffee! 

Depending on how much time I have that morning, I’ll either make myself a smoothie or make avocado toast with an egg on top sprinkled with flax seeds and chilli flakes. Sometimes I’ll make an elaborate smoothie/yogurt bowl, but that’s only if I have like an hour because I end up taking a ton of pictures of my masterpiece! 


Next, I’ll take my 2 Centrum MultiGummies Multi+Beauty vitamins for the day. I actually chuckle at myself every morning because I get so excited for this part! It’s so yummy, AND a great healthy addition to my beauty fit routine. I’ve been using it for a while now and am excited to say I’m loving it even more than when I wrote about it in February! I then go back upstairs to brush my teeth and wash my face. Some days, I try to incorporate using a jade roller to help de-puff my face and prep my skin for the day. I usually use those extra moments in the morning to really nail down my skincare. With my new found time, I have started being able to give each skincare step at least a minute to soak in / do its thing, while I relax and mentally prepare for the day. Plus, I can also do my makeup sitting down now and not while I’m pacing around the house trying to pack everything up!  


Next, I plan out my outfits! For those of you who follow me on YouTube, you know I love getting dressed every day for the WIWTW videos :). Every day is a new opportunity to try something different. I love mixing up the pieces I have in my wardrobe! I definitely have those mornings where I put on my “uniform” of jeans, t-shirt, and sweater, but when I have more time then I get to explore my own closet and find a new way to pair things! 


SOMETIMES - my “early alarm” trick doesn’t work. I mean, sometimes your body just doesn’t want to listen to your mind, right?! When that happens, I don’t always get to enjoy that calm routine you just read about. Thankfully I also have an “on-the-go” beauty fit routine... 

I wake up, make coffee, make some multi-grain toast with almond butter and honey, brush teeth, wash face, do my eyebrows, put on my “uniform”, grab a thermos of coffee, bottle of water, and my Centrum MultiGummies Multi+Beauty bottle and GOOOO. 


I’m working on having more of those above calm mornings, but for now, part of my self-care is accepting and loving that I’m having one of the busiest years of my life and learning to enjoy every moment of it!
